Call for proposals: voluntary activities

Our Foundation invites applications for volunteer work in the summer nature camp for children, organised jointly with the Csányi Foundation, in Kölked-Erdőfű wilderness between 29 July and 3 August 2024 .

During the camp, a total of 12 children in grades 5-8 will learn about the rich flora and fauna of Béda-Karapancsa, its natural values, the characteristics of wetlands and the conservation importance of hunting through various nature conservation activities. In the mornings, the campers will participate in programmes led by professional partners (e.g. bird ringing demonstrations and field birding, guided canoe trips, introductions to local game species and hunting traditions, etc.). The afternoons are organised by the campers themselves and are designed to be playful, creative and team-building nature activities, aimed at raising awareness, deepening newly acquired knowledge, providing children with opportunities to develop practical and teamwork skills, strengthening their connection with nature and giving them the opportunity to express their creative nature-inspired passions.

The aim of the competition is to recruit a volunteer to help the campers to expand their knowledge of nature through experiential learning. Join our team as a volunteer; design a two-hour programme for children on native wildlife, wildlife management or any other conservation topic you like and bring your idea to the camp!

We're counting on you throughout the camp:

  • supervising the children throughout the camp,
  • during night duty (according to a pre-arranged schedule),
  • planning and delivering a ~two-hour professional programme,
  • your active participation in the different activities and games.

What we provide for you:

  • accommodation during the whole camp,
  • five meals a day (except on arrival and departure days),
  • the possibility to claim travel expenses,
  • participation in the camp programmes.

The documents required to submit an application:

  • a completed application form,
  • a detailed description of the planned two-hour professional programme (purpose of the programme, the knowledge to be imparted, location, timetable, equipment requirements, etc.),
  • cover letter,
  • a photographic curriculum vitae.

Deadline for submission of applications: 15 May 2024.
